THE SPECIALTY BRIEF

The wires behind your walls were laid when radio was new.

Knob & tube wiring was the standard from the 1880s through the 1940s. It is not, on its own, illegal — but most insurers will refuse to renew a policy on a home that still has it, and every modern appliance you plug in is asking it to do something it was never engineered for.

A.

Documented removal

Every joint, every junction, photographed and logged for your insurance underwriter.

B.

Minimal drywall damage

We fish lines through existing cavities wherever possible — you keep the plaster.

C.

ESA-compliant finish

Final inspection booked, passed, and filed with the Electrical Safety Authority.

WORKING WITH US

A method, not a mystery.

Four named stages. Every customer knows where they are. Every quote holds. Every wire gets a photograph for the file.

  1. 01

    Discover

On-site walk-through. We open one panel, ask three questions, listen for the rest.

  2. 02

    Diagram

A written scope with hand-drawn riser diagram. Line items. No "to be determined."

  3. 03

    Deliver

Same crew every visit. Booties on. Drop cloths down. Daily clean-up before we leave.

  4. 04

    Document

Permit closure, ESA sign-off, and a tidy PDF for your records and your underwriter.

WHAT NEIGHBOURS SAY

Recognised by the people
who hire us back.

Alignable Local Businessperson of the Year 2020-21 Local Businessperson
of the Year — Alignable
They opened the panel, told us what could wait and what couldn't, and then actually did the urgent work for less than the other two quotes I had. That doesn't happen.
Margaret H. Homeowner — East York
Every wire labelled. Every junction box photographed. Our insurer renewed the policy the same week. I cannot recommend Ionic enough to any pre-1950s house in this city.
D. Whitlock Heritage Renovation — The Annex
Used them for a 4,200-sq-ft retail fit-out. On budget, on time, and the inspector signed off the same afternoon. Already booked for the next location.
